Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
The US Federal Trade Commission requires sites to disclose paid relationships. This page is that disclosure, written to be read rather than to satisfy a lawyer.
The short version
Everything on RBT HQ is free. We make money from advertising on these pages, and from affiliate commissions on products we recommend — mostly in our emails. Neither one changes what we tell you.
Advertising
Pages here may display ads. Ads are labelled as advertising. We don't choose the individual advertisers, and an advertiser buying space here doesn't earn a mention in our content, ever.
Affiliate links
Some links — mainly in our email newsletters — are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. You never pay more for using our link.
Where an email contains affiliate links, it says so in the email itself. We're not going to bury it.
What we will not do
- We don't recommend something we wouldn't suggest to a friend in the trade.
- We don't sell placements in our guides, rankings, or recommendations.
- We don't invent statistics, experts, credentials, or reviews to make an offer look better.
- We don't let a commission decide what a guide says.
No affiliation with certifying bodies
RBT HQ is independent. Where we name an exam, agency, standard, brand, or manufacturer, it's to describe the subject we're covering. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
Questions
If anything here looks like it's been influenced by money, tell us via our contact form. We'd rather hear it from you than not hear it at all.
